We’re Ready to Build a New Animal Barn
Early in 2024 we expect our contractor onsite to raise the new barn for our farm animals. As you know, the foundation has been in place for a while and continuing this project has taken longer to pull together than we had hoped. Thus, we are doubly excited that its onset is upon us, and extremely appreciative of the financial donations we’ve received from so many of you whose generosity has shown the community support – and love – of all our farm animals.
Over the past month, we’ve been busy prepping for this momentous milestone by getting our four miniature donkeys (Anna, Esau, Jacob and Junior) to feel at home at a neighboring farm where we will continue to provide them with love and care during the construction period. As you can see in the picture, they enjoyed a leisurely walk with our staff across our fields on their way to their nearby temporary home.
In late October, we moved our existing animal barn to the far end of our paddock so our 21 Nigerian dwarf goats are safe and comfy while their new home becomes a reality. We are extremely grateful to our donors who contributed to defraying the expense of moving this old barn. Once the new barn is completed, we look forward to having this second building available to isolate our animals when ill and to provide additional storage.
Be sure to stop by soon to visit our goats and check on construction.
