Oyster Workshop & Tasting with Bristol Oyster Bar

  • Mount Hope Farm 250 Metacom Ave Bristol United States (map)

When it comes to Narragansett Bay oysters, the expert is Jordan Sawyer, owner of Bristol Oyster Bar and Aquidneck Oyster Farm.

For a special treat, Jordan joins us at the Farm this June to teach us all there is to know about these plump, mineral-rich, saltwater bivalve mollusks, with rough (and, yes, perhaps ugly) irregular shells. We’ll learn how and where oysters are grown, how varieties of oysters differ, and the challenges facing our local oyster farmers.

Plus, for those ready for a hands-on experience, Jordan and his crew will teach you how to quickly – and safely – shuck these delicacies.

The backdrop for this special evening will be the Farm’s gorgeous gardens and workshed of the Governor Bradford House. (P.S. In case of inclement weather, we’ll gather in the Farm’s historic Barn.) And we’ll be joined by Two Gals Cocktails with your favorite beverages, including special cocktails designed to pair perfectly with oysters.

Tickets include eight oysters per person.
