Bristol Land Conservation Trust Nocturnal Owl Prowl Tuesday, December 13, 2022

The Bristol Land Conservation Trust will sponsor an Owl Prowl with Lauren Parmelee, Audubon Society of Rhode Island Senior Director of Education Programs, on Tuesday, December 13.

Join the BLCT and Lauren Parmelee for a nocturnal stroll at Mount Hope Farm to look and listen for owls in their natural habitat. During the fall and winter, several owl species nest in Bristol and can be heard calling to each other as they set up their territories and bond with their mates. Owls we may encounter include the Screech, Great Horned or Barred Owl. We never know what we'll hear or see, but participants will learn a lot and have a great nighttime walk.

The event, which runs from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., starts at the Mount Hope Farm barn, 250 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy walking shoes and bring a flashlight. Parking is in the parking lot behind the barn, which is accessed via the main driveway. The cash or check-only fee is $10 per person, $20 for families, and free for BLCT members. The rain/snow date is Wednesday, December 14. Please check the BLCT Facebook page for any weather/postponement updates.

The Bristol Land Conservation Trust is a non-profit organization. Proceeds from the Owl Prowl will help the BLCT in its mission - to help conserve and protect the Town’s valuable open space either through direct ownership or conservation easements. New members are always welcome. The BLCT meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Burnside Building at the corner of Hope and Court Streets, Court Street entrance.
