King Philip Suite
King Bed, Day Bed, First Floor
This ground-level suite with private entrance is located off the newest wing of the Governor Bradford House, overlooking the ceremonial gardens. It is separated from the main house by a breezeway. The bedroom has a California king bed and mirrored dressing table. The adjacent sitting room is appointed with an antique couch and a twin-size daybed. The new bathroom has a sleek, white, glass-walled shower, and a heated floor. There is a large wall-mounted smart TV, which is accessed via Wi-Fi, using your personal Apple account. All guest rooms in the Governor Bradford house have individual thermostats for heat and seasonal, window-mounted air conditioners.
The room is named for King Philip, the English name of Metacom (or Metacomet, 1638-1676), who was sachem (elected chief) to the Wampanoag people and the second son of the Sachem Massasoit. The Wampanoag were indigenous to the area of Mount Hope Farm, and prospered here for centuries before the arrival of the European colonists.
