Event Staff
Events Staff are responsible for assisting with venue operations during weddings, fundraising and special events at Mount Hope Farm. This position requires basic handyman skills (knowing how to plunge a toilet, unclog a drain, change a light bulb, flip a circuit breaker), professional customer service, good communication skills and a solid work ethic. This is a part time position weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and occasional Thursday evenings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Weddings/ Events
Independently work to ensure checklist of prep work is done prior to event
Maintains clear, discrete but visible presence at events, providing assistance as needed in areas of facility issues; directions needed; and point of contact for vendors/ Farm management
Conducts thorough visual inspections before, during and after events and identifies any damages or other problems and promptly reports them or solves problem on sight
Identifies potential safety hazards or misuse of property in prompt manner and either solves the problem or escalates it to a supervisor
Represents Mount Hope Farm in a professional manner with courtesy but does not interact with guests unless requested by the Morin Event Coordinator
Completes signed and dated event checklist report for each event worked as directed by supervisor
Fundraising Events
Assists with set-up; breakdown and cleanup for Mount Hope Farm Fundraising Events.
May serve as greeter and parking attendant as directed; includes greeting guests and vendors; providing clear and concise directions to parking areas and event venue.
Identifies potential safety hazards or misuse of property in prompt manner and solves the problem or escalates it to a supervisor
Completes signed and dated event checklist report for each event worked as directed by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and be able to lift at least 25 pounds
Able to understand and follow the Farm’s policies and specific directions
Must be very reliable and punctual; be on time and perform work as directed
Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills, and problem- solving attitude
A superior customer-service ethic, ability to retain courtesy even under trying circumstances
Ability to effectively interact with volunteers, customers and vendors
