Camp Wetu Camp Counselor
Spend your summer at Camp Wetu at Mount Hope Farm! We are hiring camp counselors for Camp Wetu. The camp, for children aged 6-12, is committed to providing children with a safe and fun summer of learning with weekly themes and frequent special guests. It is the job of the camp counselor to help accomplish the objectives of the camp by maintaining the safety of the campers and supporting and facilitating activities designed by the Camp Director. This position reports directly to the Camp Director.
This is a seasonal position with camp running from end of June through mid-August with counselors attending training prior to the start of camp.
Camp hours: M-F 8:30 -3:30 pm
Extended stay: M-F 3:30 - 5 pm
Drop-off begins at 8am daily and Counselors may begin at 8am depending on their scheduled shift.

Children will develop with confidence, compassion for those around them, and a sense of duty to help the community through an inquiry-based camp experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Camp Counselor:
Arrive on time each day to camp.
Perform all duties indicated by the daily schedule.
Bring a positive attitude and willingness to work every day.
Maintain frequent and open communication with the camp director.
Directly supervise and be responsible for their group of campers.
Ensure the health and safety of all campers and report accidents and injuries to the camp director immediately.
Maintain Camp Wetu Standards of Behavior at all times.
Enthusiastically lead campers in inquiry-based activities.
Recognize the individuality and diversity of campers and treat them all with respect and compassion.
Participate in pre-camp training.
Represent Camp Wetu and Mount Hope Farm in a positive and professional way at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Clean driving record and current driver’s license.
Ability to obtain/provide one’s own transportation to and from work.
Previous experience with children required
Interest and education relative to child development; child psychology and/or education preferred
Previous camp experience preferred
CPR/First aid certification preferred
Professionalism and a Positive attitude
Able to adapt and be flexible when things do not go as planned
Multi-tasking
Conflict management and resolution
Team-work
Able to work outdoors in different weather conditions
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
