Shakespeare's As You Like It at Mount Hope Farm

July 7, 2018

One of the area's longest-running Shakespeare companies, What Cheer, Shakespeare,  is pleased to announce that they will be performing for the first time at Bristol's Mount Hope Farm, July 7th at 7 pm on the lawn behind the Governor Bradford House.  Entrance to parking will be through the Farm’s South Gates.

This summer's production, AS YOU LIKE IT, will be performed ONE-NIGHT ONLY on July 7 at 7 pm.  The performance will take place outdoors, under the stars, but if it rains, will be moved inside the Farm’s Civil War era Barn, adjacent to the Gardens.

Bring your own chair or blanket and picnic dinner for your group.

What Cheer, Shakespeare? Has been performing at outdoor venues for the last 15 summers.  The troop also produces several "off-season" productions, including their farcical adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, which has become a legend in Rhode Island.

The company is known for bringing Shakespeare to life for everyone, using modern costumes, simple scenery, topical references, but keeping The Bard's words intact!  This is a great chance to see a classic comedy with the whole family!

The comedy AS YOU LIKE IT is an "audience favorite," taking place in a forest in which nobody is who they seem to be, but through all the hilarious confusion, love triumphs, bringing meaning to the phrase, "All the world's a stage! "

Bring a picnic (BYOB), and don't forget chairs/blankets and bug spray!

Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased on Eventbrite, or by calling the Farm at 401.254.1745.  For questions about the production, call 401-332-0029.
